Purchase Order Entry
Today, I want to go over some of the basics of Purchase Order Entry. There are aspects of Purchase Order Entry that we all use every day. In this video, we are going to cover the most common ones. Throughout this video, we cover how to navigate to PO Entry, the Purchase Order tab, and the Items tab.
Navigation and The Order Entry Tab
In this video, we discuss how to navigate to Order Entry and the Order Entry tab. Navigating to Order Entry is simple so long as you know where to look. Alternately, you can also search for the window. Knowing what to enter on the Purchase Order tab can also be a challenge if you are new to the system. For instance, some Prophet 21 fields have a red exclamation point next to them in the newer Interface. The older interface doesn’t always clearly show this. If you don’t know the required fields you might find yourself getting stuck.
Finally, we will go over the PO Notes tab, the Ship To tab, and the PO Line Notes tab. Fundamentally, the PO Notes tab and the PO Line Notes tab are the same. However, PO Line Notes is slightly more complex. In order to add a note to a specific PO Line, you have to make sure to click on the Item ID on the Items tab before going to PO Line Notes.
