Meet the ERP Geek

My name is Andrew Podner.  I have been working in and around construction, distribution, light manufacturing, and import/export companies since 1995.  While serving in various management positions for Supply Chain, Customs Compliance, and Information Technology, I have had the opportunity to oversee numerous projects to improve inventory management, purchasing efficiency, IT infrastructure, as well as the design, development, and implementation of enterprise class custom software.

What I Do

Currently, I am working as an operations executive for a manufacturer and distributor of fastener products, based in Birmingham, Alabama.  Since coming to Birmingham, my projects have been focused inside the Prophet 21 ERP system from Epicor, working on aspects of accounting & financials, warehousing, and manufacturing.

Why I like ERP

I enjoy working to get the most out of ERP systems.  ERP typically represents the largest single software investment a company will ever make.  Most companies never get the full use of their system.  Also, I focus on simplification and automation of system related processes to help extract value from the system.

Thanks for visiting my blog and reading my ramblings!
